The sliding seat which fits in runners on a flat platform that bridges the curvature of the floor of the hull is ideal for racing on deep water. The seat is able to be adjusted fore and aft and also for height and angle. There are two options, standard and low.
Platform seats have the advantage of a higher, more aggressive paddling position – allowing easier reach of the water and overall improved drive. The raised seat is also easier on your back. They can be finely adjusted for personal comfort, which is particularly useful for extreme endurance racing, such as the DW. The downside of this seat over the low moulded types, such as the 2-pin, is the reduced stability. Typically the lowest setting is around one inch higher than the moulded options which make the craft significantly less stable overall, due to the higher centre of gravity.
Low runners
By request we can provide a lowered version of this seat which has low profile runners and is approximately 10mm closer to the hull. The low seat option has two height settings but no angle adjustment.
